Care Ratings
The Care Quality Commission (CQC) regulates care homes in England. They inspect homes on a regular basis and complete detailed reports on their findings which outline the standard of services that the home delivers. These reports give the home a quality rating, known as ‘star ratings’.
The ratings are as follows:
- 3 stars means “excellent”
- 2 stars means “good”
- 1 star means “adequate”'
- no stars may mean “poor” or that the home has not yet been rated
These reports are available on the CQC website www.cqc.org.uk. You may download the reports or order a hard copy for you to look at.
