At 1st Choice Care Homes we appreciate that as a relative you have a tough decision to make in choosing long term residential or day care but often it is the only option to maintain personal safety, security and appropriate levels of care. You need to have peace of mind that you can maintain close relations with your loved ones and it is equally as important that our residents feel the same.

We recognise that relatives and friends are all part of a rich social network and actively encourage them to visit residents at any time, no restrictions and are also happy to accommodate relatives at meal times for a small charge. We want relatives to feel as much a part of the home as our residents and hold regular relatives meetings in all our homes to discuss all of the generic aspects of the care we provide. A regular newsletter also helps keep them up to date.

From the very beginning of our relationship with a resident, a two way discussion is established, ensuring that the services provided enhance the resident’s quality of life and meet the expectations of both resident and relative.
