Welcome to Essex - perhaps most famously known as being the capitals little brother. Despite this mantel, Essex boasts some of the most historical locations in the UK including the country's oldest recorded town - Colchester. Other large towns in the region include Colchester and Southend on Sea. Essex is currently benefitting from its close proximity to the 2012 Olympic Villages in East London and is enjoying a sustained period of inward investment to infrastructure and facilities in the region.
