At 1st Choice Care Homes we cater extensively for the older person with dementia. Most of our homes are registered to care for older people with mental health needs. Out care plans included all of the key elements required to help improve the daily life of people with dementia.
In the current environment, it is essential that you as a relative have peace of mind and trust in the care that your relative receives and to provide excellent quality care, our care-staff have been specifically trained to recognise people with dementia as unique individuals. We understand the specific needs that residents may have including disorientation and memory loss.
A person centred plan of care is drawn up with specific acknowledgements of a residents mental health needs. We assess how a residents lifestyle can be enhanced in the home and design a variety of activities to help stimulate them and promote their independence.
We work closely with the medical profession to ensure that the resident is treated with the utmost respect and dignity with only their best interests at heart.
