Within the care home environment, we actively encourage our residents to get involved with the planning of and light tasks such as seed nuturing and watering in the gardens and of the homes indoor plants, if their mobility allows of course.
Exercise
Indoor
We are all now aware of the benefits of and healthy diet and exercise for physical and mental wellbeing. Exercise is important part of the day throughout our care homes. The preventative benefits of our personalised exercise plans can include exercise to music by an external provider and along with other physical activity are crucial to the mobility of many residents. They are designed to be easily adapted to serve as important therapeutic and recovery aids if required. Where a resident has specific nursing or mobility restrictions then a physiotherapist may be arranged (via the GP) to provide specialist bed or armchair exercises.
Outdoor
Many of our residents have come from the local community and we encourage them to maintain links and familiarity with their surroundings though outings and excursions locally, this also aids reminiscence and recall. For those that have come to us from other areas, these excursions allow them to explore and enjoy their new community in the safety and security of accompanied visits. The outings offer excellent opportunity for short walks at the seaside, in the town or country.
